I used to think every closed door meant
I wasn't good enough so
I'd knock harder, beg longer
And keep trying to prove
I belong somewhere that didn't want me

I learned something
Sometimes that closed door ain't rejection
Sometimes it's direction
I stood outside that door so long
Trying to figure out what
I'd done wrong
Knocked until my tired hands got sore
